Victory’s Youth Ministry has something for all ages, 6-18. Our ministry seeks to engage, empower and embrace young people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Youth Ministry Schedule
Children’s Church is held on Sundays at 10am in the Shalom Suite of our main Worship Center building. Children's Sunday School begins at 8:45am. The Victory Children's Choir rehearses at 9:30am on two Sundays before they perform. The Children's Choir performs during the 3rd Sunday Worship Celebration at 10:00am. Children's Ministry includes young people ages 6-12 years old.
Victory Teens, ages 13 – 18, have many opportunities to become involved in Ministry.
- Teen Sunday School is held every Sunday at 8:45am in the Bethany Room.
- JAM (Jesus and Me) is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. JAM is an engaging and interactive service that explores the scriptures with music, videos and dialogue.
- Teen Summit is held on 4th Sunday immediately after the Worship Celebration in the Salvation Station.
Youth Participation During Worship Service
King Solomon admonishes us to train up our children in the way they should go, so when they are old, they won't depart from it. Beginning Sunday May 12, 2013 and every 2nd Sunday to follow, The gifts and talents of our youth at the Victory for the World Church will be incorporated into our Sunday Morning Worship Celebration.
Our youth will participate in a number of capacities throughout the Worship Celebration and will be trained in various areas of church etiquette and decorum. We also celebrate our African Heritage on the 2nd Sunday of each month, so each participant must be dressed in African Attire. A young person will be selected to read the Welcome to our visitors and friends on that Sunday morning and will sit in the pulpit area with our Pulpit Ministers.
In addition to reading the Welcome, A young person will highlight the upcoming events and activities of the Youth Ministry during the Announcements on that morning. He/She will also be seated in the pulpit.
Young people who wish to sing in the Choir on that morning, are to attend the Victory for the World Church Choir rehearsal on the Thursday before the 2nd Sunday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Parents are welcome to sit in on rehearsal and child care is available if needed.
Singing or Public Speaking may not be your child's calling in ministry, so the Ushers and/or Greeters Ministry is welcoming youth participation as well. Youth who wish to be an Usher or Greeter for the morning may do so by reporting to the Ushers or Greeters Ministry Coordinators, Sis. Ann Stephens, Bro. J. P. Stevens or Latonya Frye-Howard in the back area of the Worship Center by 9:30am on the 2nd Sunday.
Young men and women who wish to be Junior Deacons by serving alongside the Victory for the World Deacons Ministry may see Deacon Terri James or Deacon John Wallace that morning. They will assist in ministry and train under the supervision of our Deacons every 2nd Sunday.
The Media Ministry welcomes youth who express interest in Sound, Video and Power Point engineering in Church Ministry. Young persons who wish to serve on the Media Ministry may do so by meeting Bro. Gary Wade in the Worship Center balcony at 9:00am on the 2nd Sunday.
We want our youth to make a positive impact in church growth and be represented in every area of church life. As Victory seeks to meet the total needs of the total person, we strongly encourage parents and youth to be a strong and significant presence in the work of the church.
